Over 400 people braved a blustery October wind on Saturday 3rd October 2009 to march against proposals to site a waste burning incinerator at Saltend near Hedon.
The demonstration organised by HOTI proved that local opposition to the plans is still very strong in the Hull and Holderness area.

During the 10th and 11th centuries the river Humber was a dangerous place with ships being attacked by pirates. Having a safe place to moor was very important. The Hedon Haven was one such safe place.
By the late 12th and early 13th Century Hedon was considered one of the major ports in England.

Beverley and Holderness Member of Parliament Graham Stuart visits Hedon again (weather permitting) this Saturday for one of his Street Surgeries.

The Holderness Gazette reports that our local Member of Parliament Graham Stuart is hosting a street surgery WEATHER PERMITTING Saturday, May 16th 2009 in the Market Place, Hedon between 10:30am and 12:30pm.
All residents are welcome to attend and speak to their MP about any issues or concerns that they have.

Graham Stuart, the local Member of Parliament for Beverley and Holderness, has published the results of his survey of Hedon residents. In his “Holderness News Report” he indicates the top three issues concerning over 600 residents who responded, as:
Council Tax
Flooding
Anti-social behaviour
