The Hull Daily Mail has reported that Orchard Park in Hull will benefit from £156 million to re-develop the area. As somebody who originally hails from the estate then this is interesting news – albeit with concern that decent properties will be culled and existing communities face uncertainty and upheaval.

Traffic was almost down to a crawl on Hedon Road yesterday morning due to resurfacing work between Mount Pleasant and Southcoates Lane. The eastbound carriageway on this stretch of road is expected to be closed from 8pm – 6am until Saturday 11th July 2009

The Hull Daily Mail has reported the first case of swine flu confirmed in Hull. The Health Protection Agency confirmed three new cases yesterday in Yorkshire and the Humber including the one from Hull.
