Boundary Referendum

Historic Hedon – Wear your badge with pride!

Historic Hedon badge
CIVIC PRIDE in the town will be generated with its promotion via the smart new HISTORIC HEDON, EAST YORKSHIRE badge.

The badge, with an enamel finish and a butterfly clutch clip, is a lapel type measuring 20mm in diameter (the photograph has been enlarged to show the detail).

It is being sold to raise money for the Hedon Mayor’s charity funds. But the Mayor, Councillor John Dennis, also hopes that the wearing of the badge will also become to symbolise solidarity with Hedon in the forthcoming campaign to ‘support the boundary referendum’ i.e. to encourage residents to return their postal ballots in September 2014 expressing their views on whether Hedon should stay in the East Riding or become part of a greater Hull.

Whilst it is anticipated that the badge will become symbolic of the fight to retain the town’s character and identity, its primary purpose is to raise funds for good causes. Prostate Cancer UK will be the main beneficiary of the Hedon Mayor’s charity funds this year, but Councillor Dennis and Mayoress Jennifer also hope to support some local community projects too.

The badge costs £3 and is available from Hedon Town Hall or by calling in to Dennis Estate Agents on St Augustine’s Gate, Hedon.

  1. Badges have been going in large numbers.
Don’t miss out on becoming the owner of one of these unique items of local interest, (they might be worth a fortune one day??) and whilst doing so, donating to the Mayor’s Charity Fund, the main recipient of which will be Prostate Cancer UK.
They are on sale in my office on St Augustines Gate or at the town hall

    668th Mayor of Hedon
