VICTORIA MERRITT from Hedon is taking part in a 400km cycle challenge around the Caribbean island of Cuba in October to help raise funds in the fight against breast, ovarian and cervical cancers.
The ‘Women v Cancer’ cycling challenge is organised by Action for Charity and Victoria will be raising at least £2,900 to support the work of three charities; Breast Cancer Care, Jo’s Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action.
The challenge involves cycling Cuba over 5 days with daily rides across the beautiful island stretching from 72km to 96km each day! And while the trip which involves women of all ages promises to be an adventure of a lifetime for Victoria, it has taken lots of training and effort to get ‘challenge-ready’.
We wish Victoria all the best in her Cuban challenge – and hopefully look forward to hearing of some of her Cuban cycling adventures on the Hedon Blog upon her return.
