PLAYWRIGHT John Godber’s most recent production, a *collaboration between him, the University of Hull and Wordquake, plays its last venue at Hedon Library this week after touring another five venues across the East Riding.
“Who Cares” has a cast of four actors from Hull University’s Drama Department and is described as:
“An emotional and intense production by Godber in which takes audiences on a personal journey through the last days of his late auntie’s life, exploring the NHS and its Kafkaesque communications system with his characteristic dark comic humour along the way.”
Speaking about “Who Cares” John Godber made the following comment:
“Someone said that every politician in the country should see this play, and someone else said every doctor in the country should see this play. The most important thing about it, is it’s very honest and people respond to that.”
The production at Hedon Library is an opportunity for people to see a cultural activity that they would not necessarily get the chance to experience otherwise.
“Who Cares” is performed at Hedon Library on Saturday 25th October 2014 at 11.00am. The performance lasts 50 minutes.
Tickets are on sale priced at £2 each and available from the Library on St Augustine’s Gate in the town centre.
* Production supported by East Riding Library Service, Arts Council England, the John Godber Company and the University of Hull School of Drama, Music and Screen.
