MIND, the national charity that promotes better mental health, is set to benefit from the efforts of Fitmums in Hedon.
Sixty eight runners took part in the Hedon Fitmums ‘Sunday Runday’ yesterday morning to support their member Helen Graham who is running the Virgin Money London Marathon in April. Each member contributed £8 to take part in the run raising £544 towards Helen’s £1,750 that she hopes to raise for the charity.
Helen – who is running the Marathon as a challenge for her 40th birthday which she celebrates this year – was delighted with the fantastic turnout of supporting runners. “Hedon Fitmums have been great! Whilst I’ve been running for a while, training is so much better when you do it with a social group. They make it all so much more fun and of course support you in your efforts.”

The Sunday Runday comprised several runs yesterday with Fitmums setting of from the Haven Arms and completing distances of between 1 mile and 10km.
Fitmums on social runs have become a regular sight in Hedon and the surrounding area with their distinctive pink tops and (in the evening) safety lights. And whilst Hedon Fitmums normally meet on a Monday evening at the Haven Arms, they can often be seen on social runs at other times too.
