Hedon Youth Group – 6 years old!

MEMBERS of Hedon Youth Group were celebrating six years of success for the group on Friday the 23rd October 2015 by having a meal and birthday cake at the Haven Arms.

The Youth Group is managed by volunteers and opened in 2009. Catering for 11–16 year olds, the group meets between 7pm and 9pm every Friday at the Red Cross Hut in Hedon – except when the group members are out on trips.

Any new young people are welcome to come down on Friday evenings to see what activities and trips out we provide. We are also an inclusive group and welcome any young person with additional needs or disabilities to come along to the group.

Scott Burton, on behalf the Youth Group, said:

“I’d like to give a big thank-you to all the volunteers who continue to support the group. Without them we could not provide this support to the community! We continue to have around 20 young people who regularly attend the group.

“We are also keen to speak with people who may be interested in becoming a more active member of your community and volunteering with us.

“Enthusiastic, energetic, patient and caring volunteers are welcome to join our team and help to socialise and connect with our young people. If you are able to help or know someone else who can help, either regularly or occasionally, then please contact us.”
