FRIDAY 27th NOVEMBER 2015 is the date for your diaries! This is when the biggest event in Hedon’s annual calendar takes place: The Switch-On of the Christmas Tree lights!
With Father Christmas in his Grotto and his Santa Sleigh, with children’s fairground rides, the army cadet force band, the main street turned into a Christmas Market – and with real reindeer – the scene will be set for Hedon to welcome the Christmas season.
KCFM radio station will be broadcasting from its Christmas Tree base in the Market Place from 6pm with the lights being switched at 6:30pm on by a jolly, red-robed gentleman in the form of Hedon’s 669th Mayor Councillor Neil Black! Father Christmas usually appears on stage too in order to countdown the last few seconds before the switch-on.
