BEAVER SCOUTS have been collecting to support the Hull Foodbank. In just over 3 weeks the beavers collected 30 tins of food to donate to the bank.
Collecting 30 tins for the Foodbank, is just one of the 30 challenges that the local beavers have set themselves in order to celebrate 30 years of beaver scouts in the UK!
John Morris chair of the Hull Foodbank was delighted to call into the scout hall to receive the gathered food on behalf of the charity. Hull Foodbank relies on food donations to feed local people in crisis and welcomes all kinds of non-perishable food items from packets of pasta to tins of tomatoes. Last year over 5,100 people received emergency food and support from Hull Foodbank.
Congratulations to the beavers on their national 30th anniversary!
Hedon Beavers meet on a Tuesday at the Scout Hall on Sheriff Highway from 5:30 pm – 6:30 pm. Beavers are the first and youngest section of the scouts (boys and girls 6 – 8 years old).
