Easter celebrated in different ways across Hedon

EASTER means different things to different groups of people. It was marked in different ways across the town too.

Hedon Methodist Church placed their Easter cross of flowers outside the church on Easter Sunday after being decorated at the service earlier. The church was one of the stopping stations for prayers and hymns as part of the Good Friday Walk of Witness (as reported earlier). It was also the starting point for a group walk organised by the Methodist Church Youth Club on Saturday.

Another walk event on Saturday, which perhaps also had some ‘faith’ connotations, was the Firewalk organised by Nice 2b Nice which had a very special guest appearance by that well-known Easter character (!) Spiderman (aka Corey Campling).

Hedon Library had an Easter display knitted by the Thursday Knit & Natter group. Whilst in the Queen’s Head they celebrated the holiday way with a fancy dress 1990’s night – complete with a 90’s movie Flintstones contingent!

However you celebrated your Easter – with contemplation, celebration or chocolate – we hope you enjoyed it!

  1. St Augustines also had 100 people to celebrate Easter with some fabulous flowers and a great Service. Wonderful it was. Glad so many people across Hedon want to celebrate the fact that Jesus died for us and was raised from the dead so we can have eternal life.
